The 1000hz mouse spec (like the 120hz monitor spec) is 10-15 years old, apparently.įor the Dualsense the maximum it can OC is 8000hz(buttons)/1000hz(sticks) over wire and 1000hz/1000hz Bluetooth. diminishing returns, but I don't like using that term because it allows for "but why achieve that when we could do more important X thing instead?" excuses. Like how you need to 2x your framerate to truly reap equal benefits at really high resolutions (60 - 120 - 240 - 480 - 960), mice are similar but on an 8x multiplier (125 - 1000 - 8000). What it seems to boil down to is that at 360hz+ refresh rates, the inconsistencies of 1000hz polling rates becomes apparent (objectively using high speed measurement tools, subjectively it depends on the person). I've found a really good discussion thread on the Blurbusters forums regarding the new 8000hz Razer mouse ( The OP has most of key points of discussion). If you're stuck with Xbox controllers and have been using Bluetooth to play wirelessly, you might consider buying an official Wireless Adapter. If you're playing over Bluetooth, go Dualshock 4. If you're wired and don't want to OC, go Xbox. If you're only playing wired and can OC, go Dualsense if you can or go Dualshock 4.
